<coming up>
A story we know in different forms in different cultures. Two brothers, one a Farmer, the other a Herdsman sacrifice part of their produce to God. Cain is enraged when he learns that God favours the sacrifice of Abel and sets out to kill him. Symbolically the story comments on the transition of a nomadic society to one based on agriculture.
In Siberia, I follow the story of the Shor People. Who in 20th Century lost their traditional (semi-nomadic) culture due to soviet occcupation, mining and simply modern life.
